Sweet New Baby Card

This card was made for friends after the birth of their son, Joshua. I started with a white notecard and added a piece of silver glitter paper from The Works - I love this glitter paper because, not only was it inexpensive, but the glitter doesn't shed like some other glitter papers. Then I added a piece of patterned paper from the Studio Calico Atlantic 6x6 paper pad and a peice of blue and white striped washi tape from my stash. The stamped image of the fox holding baloons was stamped using the Mama Elephant Up and Away set. I coloured it with Spectrum Noir pencils and blending solution and added freckles with a Uniball white gel pen for extra cuteness, as I've seen Nichol Magouirk do on YouTube. Next I fussy cut it and adhered it to the card with Dovecraft silicone glue to create some dimension. I added sparkle to the balloons with the Zig Wink of Stella clear glitter marker and made the glossy and dimensional with Ranger Glossy Accents. The sentiment is from the Mama Elephant Just Hatched stamp set and I stamped it with Hero Arts silver ink. I added ribbon and sequins from my stash and created the letter embellishments to spell 'Joshua' using a Hobbycraft typewriter alphabet stamp set and the same Hero Arts silver ink.

New Home Card

I made this card for my brother and sister-in-law when they moved. The card base is by Pebbles - I really love the aqua chevrons. The stamp set is Bitty Bungalows by Paper Smooches. I stamped the images with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them with alcohol markers. I fussy cut them and popped them up on gue dots to add dimension. The sentiment is from an old Mollie Bloom set (I can't recall the name I'm afraid) and I stamped it with Hero Arts Soft Pool and Stampin' Up Real Red inks. The wood veneer geotag is from Studio Calico and I coloured the central heart with matching Real Red ink and used glossy accents to add shine. The heart images are from the Happy Feast stamp set from Lawn Fawn. The piece of rafia took me the longest to decide on - I must have tried every peice of twine and ribbon in my stash before I finally settled on this one!

Welcome Baby Card

This is the second of two cards I made for two friends who we threw a joint surprise baby shower for. For this card, we didn't know the sex of the baby so I tried to go with something gender neutral - although in the end I couldn't resist using this pretty flowers so it essentially ended up quite feminine. I uses Fresh Cut Florals stamps and dies from Wplu9 - I absolutely adore these stamps and from the moment I saw them used on Jennifer McGuire's YouTube channel I knew I had to have them. It was searching for them on-line that led me to Make The Day Special, an awesome online store that sells US stamps, dies, inks and paper pads in the UK. I used various inks from Stampin' Up and Hero Arts including Green Hills, Pistachio Pudding, Gumball Green, Passion Flower, Soft Lilac, Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Crushed curry and Daffodil Delight. The adorable duck is from a Stampin' Up set called Storybook Friends. I stamped him with smoky slate ink to complete the soft look I was going for and coloured the beak and feet with a Crushed Curry Stampin' Up marker. The sentiment is from Handwritten Borders by Simon Says Stamp and was stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe ink onto a strip of matching cardstock.

Baby Shower Card

This is my first ever shaker card and I really enjoyed making it for my friend on her baby shower. The patterned paper is from the Studio Calico Atlantic 6x6 paper pad. The stork and sentiment are from the Plus One stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I used Stampin' Up Smoky Slate ink instead of my usual black as I thought it created a softer look, inkeeping with the design. I coloured the stork image with Stampin' Up markers in Crushed Curry and Pool Party. The sequins are a selection from my stash. My one disappointment in this card is that I used vellum which was not pure white and I think this spoiled the overall effect.
